The fully electric crossover combines everyday usability, advanced technology and a generous standard specification.

  • 67.08 kWh battery with AC and DC charging capability, including CCS Type 2 compatibility.
  • Premium cabin highlights include a 13.2-inch touchscreen, eight-speaker Sony audio system, heated and ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof.
  • Comprehensive safety and driver-assistance suite, including a 360-degree camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking.

Following a media preview at the Cars.co.za offices in Cape Town on 24 August 2026, Lepas South Africa will bring the all-electric L6 EV to the Festival of Motoring at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 28 to 30 August 2026.

Its appearance at Kyalami will be the next in a series of viewing events planned ahead of the model’s South African launch. Festival visitors will be able to explore the L6 EV up close, with its formal market introduction to follow at a later stage.

Pairing a 67.08 kWh battery with a feature-rich cabin and an extensive suite of driver-assistance technology, the L6 EV points to the next phase of the brand’s growing local product range.

It will be displayed alongside the internal-combustion-powered L6, which is due to enter the South African market in the third quarter of 2026. Together, the two models will show how the L6 range will cater to customers looking for different powertrain options.

Built for everyday electric driving

A front-mounted electric motor sends 160 kW and 275 Nm to the front wheels. The L6 EV offers a WLTC-rated range of up to 450 km and supports both AC and DC charging, with a 6.6 kW onboard AC charger and a CCS Type 2 charging connection. A portable Type 2 charger will also be included as standard.

Drivers can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes to suit changing conditions and preferences, while independent rear suspension and electric power steering contribute to the L6 EV’s on-road character.

The L6 EV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes. Red brake calipers add a sportier visual detail to the exterior.

Big screens and premium sound

Technology takes centre stage inside the L6 EV. An 8.88-inch digital instrument display is paired with a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Bluetooth connectivity and voice control. An eight-speaker Sony audio system and 50 W wireless smartphone charging complete the cabin technology package.

Comfort, elevated

Comfort is equally well covered. The L6 EV features leatherette upholstery and electrically adjustable front seats, with heating and ventilation for both front occupants. The driver also receives seat memory and four-way lumbar adjustment.

Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting and a power tailgate round out the convenience specification.

Driver assistance from every angle

The driver-assistance package is equally comprehensive, bringing together 20 ADAS features. Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist and Integrated Cruise Assist provide added support in traffic and on longer journeys, while Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Emergency Lane Keeping help monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and assist with lane positioning.

Automatic Emergency Braking can recognise vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, while Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking provide additional support when manoeuvring.

The L6 EV also features a high-definition 540-degree panoramic camera and Fully Automatic Parking Assist, supported by front and rear parking sensors. LED headlights, Intelligent Headlight Control, rain-sensing wipers and seven airbags further contribute to the model’s safety specification.

More choice as the Lepas range grows

“The L4 marked the start of our journey in South Africa earlier this year, and the imminent launch of the L6 will take our local range another step forward. The L6 EV shows how we plan to build on that foundation by giving consumers more choice, not only between models but also between powertrains,” says Letitia Herold, National Brand and Marketing Manager at Lepas South Africa.

“Different powertrains suit different customers, and our range needs to reflect that. As Lepas expands in South Africa, we want buyers to have more ways to find a vehicle that fits their needs.”

Further details, including power and performance figures, driving range, final local specifications, pricing and on-sale timing, will be announced closer to launch.
